Trek 770
The Trek 770 was the peak of Trek's hand-built steel race bikes for the general public. represents the absolute peak of Trek’s hand-built steel era. The 770 was crafted in Waterloo, Wisconsin at Trek's original factory. The investment cast lugs were revolutionary, designed by Tim Isaac to allow faster assembly by socketing the tubes into the lugs without mitering. This bike proved that Trek could build a race bike every bit as good as a Bianchi or Colnago. Available as a frameset, complete bikes were outfitted with a Campagnolo Record group.
