Sean Yates Merckx Motorola
This is an authentic Sean Yates Merckx Motorola team bike from 1994. The team build book notes that the bike was ridden in the Tour DuPont where he finished second on a stage into Asheville, NC. 1994 was also the year Yates wore yellow at the Tour de France. The bike is built with period-correct DuraAce components. The 8spd STI levers are cosmetically rough, but functional. Yates was notorious for using downtube shifters years after the introduction of STI, though there are images of him using a rear STI lever in the last few years of his career. The frame itself does not appear to have been heavily used, though does show wear with some scratches and paint loss.
The bike measures 60cm c-t-c seat tube, 59cm top tube.
Head tube angle is 73.5° and the seat tube is a laid back 70.2°.
