1979 Richard Sachs touring
This is a rare touring frame by Richard Sachs. Only a small handful of touring frames have been produced by Richard. Seat height as shown in photos is 73cm. It is stamped as a 56cm frame. This unique build features a Campagnolo Rally rear derailleur, and Avocet headset and seatpost.
A complete teardown was completed on this bike, with every component removed and cleaned before being greased and reassembled. The bike will come with original replacement yellow oval decals from Richard Sachs. Brake hoods and bartape were left in place, but reproduction hoods and new cloth bar tape will be included as well.
This 1979 Sachs frame is a genuine piece of American cycling history, coming from the early years of his independent career as he established a reputation for constructing some of the best frames made anywhere.
