1978 Richard Sachs
What needs to be said about Richard Sachs? He’s been building bicycle frames for a long time. They’re great bikes. They’re nice to ride, and admire. This 57cm frame was built in 1978 for Green Mountain Schwinn Cyclery in Vermont. The shop built it up and spec’d the Shimano GT300 “Schwinn Approved” Le Tour rear derailleur to handle a 34 tooth cog.
A full teardown was completed on this bike, with each component cleaned, greased, and reinstalled. The bike will come with original replacement downtube, head tube and seat tube decals from Richard Sachs.
This 1978 Sachs frame is a genuine piece of American cycling history, coming from the early years of his independent career as he established a reputation for constructing some of the best frames made anywhere.
